Although not amember of the B M B C may I ask through your site whether any member knows of a group going across the Mersey for the departure of The Tall Ships Race from Liverpool in July. Thank you

Hello there, Its Sue, Mark, Milly and Georgia from Harmony signing in. Not sure what I'm doing or what to say. Probably see you all down the club this weekend for our first sleep aboard. Wish us luck and if you see me walking the towpath with my pillow under my arm it means I'm freezing so put me up for the night. Ha ha!! See you then x x

Hello everybody! ;D I have finally managed to get onto the forum ... long story, but better late than never! I'm still stiff after the Christmas in April opening cruise for 2008 .... I think it was tension, praying that the poor little boat would get me back safe and sound. It took 6 hours to get to Lymm, but only 4 to get back .... the wind was behind me coming home!! It will be another visit to the moneylender to try and get the engine sorted out. I can't normally find two words to string into a sentence when I'm talking, but when I get onto a forum ......... hope I don't make too much of an eedjit of myself! See you all soon - if not on here, then at least at the Clubhouse!

Hi all, Just got the broadband thing installed (Hung on as long as I could) so I thought I had better join the group.
Congratulations to Chris as he sets sail, he deserves a good long rest after all the effort and time he has been putting in to his little boat.
What does anybody think about the next big project at the club. Should we roof the dock or have another room built at the back for pool and games.
I will check on postings daily if anyone want to say hello.
Regards Graeme

A roof on the dock would be more useful than a games room - although the clubhouse is not the only thing that deserves to have money spent on it.

Welcome to the forum Graeme. Of the 2 choices you have given us, I will have to go with the roof on the dry dock. My reasons for choosing the roof, is that we are a boating club, and as such our members deserve the best facilities and moorings that can be provided for them. Also I think that a covered dry dock would be a greater asset to the club rather than a games room. If we are thinking about covering the dry dock, what about a covered area for the trolley. It rains on the GRP boats as well. Dave Spadger.

Hi All, This is Doug off "Wild 1" a 43ft narrow-boat moored on Sprinch, from were I have a good view of the old town. I live in Sunny Weymouth but try to spend as much time as I can on "Wild1". I've had "Wild 1" 5 years and it's my ambition to cruise the whole of the network (about 3000miles). I have done about 70% so far, a lot of it single-handed. All the best Doug

Hello everyone, I am quite new to boating as I have only had 'Will' since July 2008. Presently Will is moored in Enslow just north of Oxford and I am planning to bring her up to the Preston Brook area in the next few months, because I live in Colwyn Bay.
I grew up in Warrington and regularly walked the Bridgewater canal in the 1960's - it was my ambition to have a narrow boat. I am looking forward to meeting everyone. So far I have met mostly lovely, friendly people with boats.

Hi Lynda, Welcome to the BMBC forum. When you get nearer to us you must come and visit our club at the end of the Runcorn Arm. There are always people around almost every weekend, unless the commodore is taking us all out on a cruise. The bar is open Friday and Saturday night and lunch times Sunday. Looking forward to meeting up with you for a weekend Hilary 'Communications BMBC'
